BCATPR Knowledge Translation Event Brings together Researchers, Knowledge Users and Patients

On June 14th the eHealth Strategy Office presented early findings from the CIHR funded Home-Based Telehealth for Chronic Disease Management Knowledge Synthesis, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Sandra Jarvis-Selinger. The goal of this participatory knowledge synthesis project is to develop recommendations and findings that are directly applicable to a wide variety of users. 30 participants attended the session at SFU Harbour Centre, including patients, patient advocates, clinicians, policy makers, researchers and representatives from the health information business community. The event was held in conjunction with the BC Alliance for Telehealth Policy and Research’s Annual Conference.

This interactive and user-driven session was an important opportunity to hear from the future users of the knowledge synthesis. The diverse group of participants provided suggestions for questions that they would hope the final knowledge synthesis can answer, as well as the best ways to engage with them.

This event will be followed by a final knowledge translation event in the early fall which will be an opportunity for all stakeholders to gather for a discussion of the research.

If you are interested in attending the final knowledge translation event or receiving a copy of the final report in the fall, please contact kile.b@ubc.ca. We value your input and look forward to sharing our research with you!
