Explore Career Paths that Combine Life Sciences with Computer Sciences

Hey UBC Students! Have you wondered to where skills and knowledge from computer science classes could lead a future to? You’re invited to explore this cross-point of health and computer sciences with us on Tuesday, November 13.  In collaboration with Society for Canadian Women In Science and Technology, UBC Computer Science, we are pleased to be sponsoring a panel discussion featuring experts in the realm of bioinformatics, health informatics and mobile health applications. The first part of this free event features a face-to-face Q&A hour with the expert speakers followed by an interactive networking. Here’s your chance to ask these experts how and why they are working in this field and what skills are important to building a successful career. You’ll also find out about emerging trends and career opportunities as well as how biologists leverage their scientific knowledge and apply it to the IT world.
