eHITS Public Forum: Using Technology for Health and Wellness!

UBC Faculty of Medicine eHealth Strategy Office, in partnership with the Provincial Patients as Partners Committee and the e-Patient/ eHealth Working Group, is hosting a public forum on November 19, 2015. This public and patient-focused event will introduce and showcase how eHealth – the use of modern technology for health management – is being used in BC to support the health and wellness of BC citizens. eHITS (eHealth Innovation and Technology Showcase) will be an opportunity for participants to learn more about the types of electronic tools and services available and to participate in a discussion with speakers and other audience members on how best to use technology in health.

Who should attend? Anybody and everybody interested in learning more about using technology to support their health or caring for a loved one.

Where? The forum will take place in the Alice MacKay Room on the Lower Level at Vancouver Public Library (350 West Georgia Street), and will be webcasted live and tweeted out for anyone to join in!

When? Thursday, November 19, 2015, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Overview of the agenda (subject to change):

  • 6:00 pm: Doors open.
    • Local organizations will be displaying and providing information.
  • 6:30 pm: Opening remarks
  • 6:50 pm: Speakers and discussion panel
    • Health professionals and patients will give short presentations about what is currently happening in B.C. The floor (and Twitter!) will then be open for questions and discussion.
  • 8:20 pm: Closing remarks
  • 8:30 – 9:00 pm: Post-event reception
    • Local organizations be displaying and providing information.

This event is offered in concert with Canada Health Infoway’s Digital Health Week. Digital Health Week (November 16 – 22, 2015) recognizes how digital health is transforming care and helping to improve delivery of care across the country. The eHITS Public Forum will showcase and celebrate what is happening in B.C.
