UBC Medicine has reported on the eHealth Strategy Office’s report produced for the World Health Organization on their website:
When the World Health Organization (WHO) needed help compiling a report on telemedicine, it turned to UBC’s eHealth Strategy Office.
The office, headed by Associate Professor Kendall Ho and part of the Faculty of Medicine, was recruited for the job of writing the overview report, which summarizes the results of a 2009 survey on the level of telemedicine development in four areas – teledermatology, telepathology, teleradiology and telepsychology…
“I was both honoured and humbed by the WHO’s request,” says Dr. Ho, a member of the Department of Emergency Medicine. “It was a mutually beneficial undertaking. Not only was I able to contribute my knowledge and skills to help the WHO with this report, but I learned more about global health and the impact eHealth has had on developed and developing countries.”
