Title: The Technology Enabled Academic Detailing project.
The BC Provincial Academic Detailing (PAD) service is a medication education service that provides objective, evidence-informed drug information on the best prescribing practices to primary care physicians and other health care professionals. Funding from the BC Ministry of Health, Pharmaceutical Services Division, has allowed the eHealth Strategy Office to collaborate with PAD to implement and assess technology enabled academic detailing (TEAD) as a component of the PAD service. TEAD builds on the concept of traditional academic detailing by using modern information and communication technologies to help enable, extend and support the delivery of the PAD service for both the academic detailers and the participating physicians and healthcare professionals.
This presentation introduces PAD and TEAD, describe the history of TEAD and its purpose, outlines the implementation activities, describes current activities, outlines potential promotional strategies, and illustrates eHealth’s future vision with TEAD.
The eHealth Strategy Office’s eHIPP Rounds are a series of professional and academic talks on topics related to eHealth and technology, that take place every third Thursday of the month at 1pm Pacific Time. All events are available live on the Web, using Adobe Connect.
