This month’s eHealth Investigative Partnership Program (eHIPP) talk was delivered by members of the eHealth Strategy Office team who collaborated with the Guidelines and Protocols Advisory Committee (GPAC), comprised of members from the Ministry of Health Services and the British Columbia Medical Association to develop CliniPEARLS, a system designed to deliver clinical information on mobile devices.
CliniPEARLS is a mobile decision support application currently used to deliver medical guidelines to health care providers for use at the point of care on PDAs, mobile phones, and the web. The full web version of the guidelines are available at http://www.bcguidelines.ca/.
Using the BC Guidelines app based on the CliniPEARLS system, health care professionals and medical students can use these guidelines on their mobile devices to ensure that they are following British Columbia’s latest evidence. Currently BC Guidelines apps are available for four types of mobile phones: iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Palm and have been installed on over 7000 devices.
The eHealth Strategy Office’s eHIPP Rounds are a series of professional and academic talks topics related to eHealth and technology, that take place every third Thursday of the month at 1pm Pacific Time. All events are available live on the Web, using Adobe Connect.
